Zenith Royal Trans Oceanic D7000Y

I love old radios, as any reader of this blog will probably know. My collection has grown both in quantity and in variety. Like with any hobby, there is only so much room for storage and/or display before you have to downsize a bit to grow in new areas.  I am selling one of my childhood favorites (never owned one as a kid, but my mom had an earlier version of this radio, the 3000) to make room for a new boat anchor.

I am mentioning this here (and I promise not to do this often) because I realize some of my readers might be very interested in this particular radio. You can read about it more fully in the eBay listing below, but I will say the radio is pleasing both cosmetically and operationally, and would make a fine addition to anyone’s collection. Here is the eBay link:

Herewith ends my humble sales pitch! (Update: Radio sold next day while I was at Hamvention! )

Great looking radio, Robert. I keep looking in thrift stores for some old radio that I could refurbish. An old tube radio would be great.

I do too, Ron. Unfortunately I have not had any luck locally. I hear of people finding great deals at thrift shops when I read things on the web, but not around here! I guess maybe if you checked every day all around the city something would eventually turn up, but I don’t have that kind of time (or inclination!). It’s a bit like playing the lottery I guess, if you don’t play you can’t win. For me, I don’t win when I play anyway!!
    Cheers my friend! Robert
